SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

CHAPTER 490
(House Bill 480)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 210 (a) of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland
Water Fish", sub-heading "Regulations for the Taking of Game
and Fresh Water Game Fish in Non-Tidal Waters", relating to the
taking or catching of carp (cyprinus carpio) by gig IN CERTAIN
AREAS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 210 (a) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading "Regulations for the
Taking of Game and Fresh Water Game Fish in Non-Tidal Waters",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
to read as follows:

210. (Gigs and Bait Fish Nets.) (a) It shall be unlawful for any
person to use or attempt to use a gig or gig iron or a light or nets
or seines, fish pots, or other fishing rigs other than permitted in this
Article [.] , provided, however, that the taking or catching of cypri-
nus carpio (carp) by gig
UNDER THE SUPERVISION, REGULA-
TION AND CONTROL OF THE GAME AND INLAND FISH COM-
MISSION shall be lawful, IN THE POTOMAC RIVER, CONOCO-
CHEAGUE CREEK, AND IN ANTIETAM CREEK, ALL AREAS
BEING IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, EXCEPT DURING THE
MONTHS OF APRIL, MAY AND JUNE. It shall be deemed prima
facie evidence that same was in possession for the purpose of violating
this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
