any real estate in which he or she may have acquired since the
finding of such inquisition [.] or adjudication.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 345 (o) of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1954 Supplement),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Health — Narcotic
Drugs", correcting an error inadvertently made in the wording of
said section, as amended by Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1954.
WHEREAS, At the 1954 Session of the General Assembly, there was
enacted Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1954, to amend the definitions in
the Uniform Narcotics Drug Act; and
WHEREAS, In the process of making these amendments, a reference
to "any other drugs to which the federal narcotic laws may now
apply" was inadvertently changed to read "any other drugs to which
the federal narcotic laws may not apply" and
WHEREAS, This inadvertent change completely destroys the in-
tended meaning of this part of Section 345 (o); and
WHEREAS, It is desirable that a prompt correction be made in order
to avoid any uncertainty in the application and enforcement of this
vital section and part of the State's narcotic laws; now, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 345 (o) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1954 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title
"Health—Narcotic Drugs", as said section was amended by Chapter
25 of the Acts of 1954, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
345. Definitions, (o) "Narcotic drugs" means coca leaves, opium,
cannabis, and every other substance neither chemically nor physically
distinguishable from them, and any other drugs to which the federal
narcotic laws may [not] now apply. In addition, the term "narcotic
drugs" shall mean the following:
(1) "Isonipecaine," which means the substance identified chemic-
ally as l-methyl-4-phenyl-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid ethylester or
any salt thereof by whatever trade name identified.
