of Queen Anne's County, according to the assessment books or tax
rolls of said municipal corporations on the last day of the preceding
year. Said funds paid under this section are for the purpose of con-
structing, maintaining and repairing the public highways and bridges
within the limits of said municipal corporations and located within
the confines of Queen Anne's County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 387 through 390, inclusive, of Article 18
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title "Sheriff", repealing certain
obsolete provisions as to the office of Sheriff of Queen Anne's
County.
WHEREAS, These provisions are now superseded by the Code of
General Laws and should therefore be repealed.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 387 through 390, inclusive, of Article 18 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen
Anne's County", sub-title "Sheriff", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
