(1951 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 5. Dis-
trict School Trustees", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

80. The County School Superintendents of Maryland are hereby
authorized to enlarge the usefulness and increase the efficiency of
public school property by allowing the use of public school houses for
farmers meetings, meetings of the farmers' Education and Co-
operative Union of America, Grange meetings, Maryland Agricul-
ture Society-Maryland farm Bureau Federation, public speakings,
lectures, entertainments, church festivals, Red Cross meetings,
Y. M. C. A. meetings, meetings and entertainments of the American
Legion, Veterans of foreign Wars, United Spanish-American War
Veterans and other regularly incorporated and recognized veterans'
associations, and for any other purposes which are for the civic
welfare. Provided, however, that all such meetings held in the
public school buildings shall at all times be open to the public. Pro-
vided, further, that in Anne Arundel County, the County School
Superintendent is hereby authorized to allow, in his discretion, the
use of public school houses in Anne Arundel County for Sunday
school purposes upon the usual application and conditions while the
buildings in which the Sunday schools are usually conducted are
being renovated, repaired or rebuilt. The use of the school houses is
to be temporary only and to cease as soon as the buildings previously
used are renovated, repaired or rebuilt.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 373
(House Bill 477)

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Education of Prince George's
County and the Board of County Commissioners of Prince George's
County to issue serial bonds upon the full faith and credit of
Prince George's County to the amount of not more than Ten Million
Dollars ($10,000,000.00) for the purpose of building new school-
houses or for the construction of an addition or additions to exist-
ing schoolhouses in said County, for the purchase of sites where
necessary, and for equipping such new or improved schoolhouses,
or for the matching of Federal funds for the above mentioned
purposes, said bonds to be issued from time to time in the joint
discretion of said Board; and to authorize the Board of County
Commissioners of Prince George's County to levy such tax on the
taxable basis of said County as may be necessary to pay the interest
on such of said bonds as may be outstanding from time to time,
and to redeem said bonds as they become due and payable.
