10.01.03.04 Hospital Inpatient Program
General Fund Appropriation to Gen-
eral Hospitals providing funds for
disbursement by the Treasury De-
partment to the 36 institutions
listed in the program and perform-
ance statement for this program on
transmittals from the State Depart-
ment of Health. Eligibility for
State aid for hospital inpatient care
of individuals in the named institu-
tions shall be determined by the
local Departments of Public Welfare
under policies established by the
State Department of Public Wel-
fare. Payments to General Hos-
pitals shall be at the lesser of (a)
$12.00 per patient day; (b) hospital
cost per patient day; (c) billings
to other patients for like services.
In the event that the Federal Gov-
ernment makes funds available to
the State for hospitalization of the
indigent any part of the appropria-
tion may be used for matching pur-
poses by mutual consent of the in-
stitution and the State Department 2,941,671

term illnesses for disbursement by
the Treasury Department to the
nine institutions listed in the pro-
gram and performance statement
for this program on transmittals
from the State Department of
Health. Eligibility for State aid for
hospital inpatient care of individ-
uals in the named institutions shall
be determined by the local Depart-
ments of Public Welfare under
policies established by the State De-
partment of Public Welfare. Pay-
ments to special hospitals shall be at
the lesser of (a) $5.00 per day, or
(b) cost per patient day, except in
the case of Tuberculosis Hospitals
which shall be paid the lesser of
(a) the average cost in State-owned
tuberculosis hospitals, or (b) cost
per patient day. In the event that
the Federal Government makes
funds available to the State for
hospitalization of the indigent any
part of the appropriations made
may be used for matching purposes
