of the regular school year. Provided that the provisions of this
section shall apply in Baltimore County AND MONTGOMERY
COUNTIES only to buildings, improvements, supplies or equipment
exceeding the sum of Five Thousand Dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 38
(House Bill 81)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (n) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "County Commissioners, " sub-title "County Treasurers, "re-
lating to the salary of the County Treasurer of Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 (n) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "County Commissioners, " sub-title "Coun-
ty Treasurers, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
47. (n) The County Treasurer of Baltimore County shall receive
an annual salary of [$5, 200. 00, until December 1, 1950, and there-
after he shall receive an annual salary of $7, 500. 00] $9, 000.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the increase in salary
herein provided for the treasurer of Baltimore County shall not
apply to the treasurer who is in office at the time this law is enacted.
The said increase shall be effective only as to the treasurer of Balti-
more County who becomes such next after the time this law is
enacted.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
