being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "Orphans' Court", as said section was
amended by Chapter 731 of the Acts of 1953, relating to the
maximum salary which may be paid to the Bailiff of the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 289 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Orphans' Court",
as said section was amended by Chapter 731 of the Acts of 1953, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to
read as follows:
289. The [Bailiffs] Bailiff of the said Orphans' Court of Baltimore
City shall receive a salary of not less than $3,675 nor more than
[$4,475]$.4,750 per annum, payable in monthly installments at the
end of each and every month by the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, said salary to be determined and certified to by the Judges of
the Orphans' Court of Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1956.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 140 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Board of License Commis-
sioners", relating to the expenses of the License Commissioner of
Frederick County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 140 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Board of
License Commissioners", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
140. (Appointed by Governor.) (a) (Frederick County.) In Fred-
erick County, the Governor shall appoint a License Commissioner for
Frederick County, who, at the time of his appointment shall be a resi-
dent and taxpayer of Frederick County and shall have resided in said
County for not less than five years next preceding his appointment
and be not less than thirty years of age. During his term of office, he
shall not hold any other position of trust or profit under the laws of
