Resolved, That a Commission be created consisting of three mem-
bers of the House of Delegates to be appointed by the Speaker, and
and three members of the Senate to be appointed by the President
of the Senate, and nine members to be appointed by the Governor
from the general body of the citizenry of Maryland, with at least
three persons who shall reside in the counties of the Western Shore
contiguous to the tidewaters of the Chesapeake Bay, and three per-
sons residing in counties of the Eastern Shore contiguous with the
tidewaters of the Chesapeake Bay, and three members at large.
It is the intention of this Resolution that in the appointment of all
members of the Commission, great care shall be taken to insure that
representatives of the various types of organizations actively in-
terested in the fishing industry of the Chesapeake Bay and tribu-

(House Joint Resolution 13)
House Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to appoint a Com-
mission to study the ways and means of financing a convention hall
at Ocean City, Maryland, which would provide a suitable structure
for housing business and professional conventions, cultural con-
ferences, industrial exhibits, trade shows, and sports events, as
well as stimulating further tourist trade and income for the State
of Maryland.
WHEREAS, Maryland possesses one of the finest ocean beaches on
the Atlantic Coast at Ocean City, Maryland; and
WHEREAS, Ocean City has ideal facilities for ocean bathing and
fishing and other wholesome recreation, and is ideally situated in
location for conventions; and
WHEREAS, Many Maryland organizations are forced to go outside
the State to hold their summer conventions because of the lack of
sufficient meeting space at Ocean City; and
WHEREAS, It would be a great financial benefit to the State of
Maryland if these various conventions were held there; now therefore
be it
