CHAPTER 714
(Senate Bill 565)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Pistols", said new section to be known as Section 539A
and to follow immediately after Section 539 of said Code, relating
to the sale of pistols or revolvers in St. Mary's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", sub-title "Pistols", said new section to be known as
Section 539A, to follow immediately after Section 539 of said Code,
and to read as follows:
589A. Any person who shall sell any pistol or revolver, as defined
in this sub-title, within St. Mary's County shall, before making a
sale of such weapons, be required to obtain a certificate for each
such sale, from the Sheriff of St. Mary's County, which certificate
shall contain the name and address of the prospective purchaser of
such weapons. Any person who shall sell such weapons without first
having obtained such certificate shall, upon conviction thereof before
any Justice of the Peace, be subject to a fine of not less than one
hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars
($500.00), or to imprisonment for not more than one year, or to
both such fine and imprisonment.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to add Section 18A to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Pinball
Machines", to follow immediately after Section 18 thereof, estab-
lishing a pinball licensing law for Dorchester County AND TAL-
BOT COUNTIES and relating generally thereto.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-
title "Pinball Machines", said new section to be known as Section
18A, to follow immediately after Section 18 thereof, and to read as
follows:
