of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Dogs",

relating to licenses for "Seeing Eye" dogs and
dogs trained in the K-9 Corps.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 293 and 294 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne
Arundel County (1947 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Dogs", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and to read as follows:

293. (a) (Other Unlawful Acts Concerning Dogs.) The following
shall be deemed unlawful acts and constitute misdemeanors and upon
conviction thereof before a justice of the peace or County Court shall
be punished by a fine of not more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or
by imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than thirty days,
or by fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. It shall
be the duty of the State's Attorney with the assistance of the sheriff,
his deputies and the duly appointed Wardens of the County to prose-
cute all such cases that come to their attention. All fines imposed
under this section shall be payable to the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County, for use in the administration of the provisions
of this sub-title.

(b)  (Diseased Dogs.) for the owner of any dog with a contagious
or infectious disease to permit such dog to stray from his premises.

(c)    (Female Dog in Season.) for the owner of any female dog
to permit such dog to leave his premises excepting on a leash while
such dog is in season.

(d)   (Dead Dog.) for any person to deposit or knowingly to leave
his dead dog on public property or the property of another.

(e)    (Concealing a Dog.) for any person to deny ownership or
possession of or to conceal or harbor any dog on which the license
fee has not been paid, or to conceal a dog suspected of rabies to keep
it from being impounded for observation and possible destruction.

(j) (Alteration of License Certificate.) for any person, for an
unlawful purpose to alter the original entries on a license certificate.

(g) (Unlawful Use of Lost Tag.) for any person to use a lost
tag for which a duplicate has been issued or to use a tag on a dog
for which it was not issued.

(h) (Purchase of Fraudulent License.) for any person to pur-
chase a dog license on fraudulent representations concerning himself
or the dog licensed.

(i) (Counterfeiting of License Tag.) for any person to use a
tag in substitution for a legal license tag so similar in shape and
appearance that it is easily mistaken for the official tag for the
current year.

(j) (Kennel License Liability.) for any person financially in-
terested in a kennel license to permit any unlawful operation or
practice by such kennel.
