called paper ballot system in the event of emergency or other unusual
circumstances.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 702
(House Bill 817)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 195 (h)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition
and 1954 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," sub-title "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish," sub-heading "Deer," increasing
in Montgomery County the penalties for violations of certain pro-
visions relating to the hunting of deer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 195 (h) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement), title "Natural Resources",
sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading "Deer",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

195.

(h) Any person violating any of the provisions of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction before
any court of competent jurisdiction of this State, shall be fined not
less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than Two Hun-
dred Dollars ($200.00) and costs for each and every offense. Pro-
vided that, in Montgomery County, upon any conviction the fine shall
be not less than Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) nor more
than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and costs for each and every
offense.
Any person who fails to pay the fine so imposed, shall stand
committed to jail until the fine and costs have been paid, but such
imprisonment shall not exceed sixty (60) days for any one offense
and in addition to such fine or fines all spotlights, artificial lights,
or battery or other contrivance or devices to spot or locate or
hunt for said game, and all firearms found in or on such vehicles
or in possession of such persons so convicted, or used in violation
of the provisions of this section, shall be confiscated and shall be dis-
posed of by the Director as he may deem advisable for the best in-
terest of the State.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
