CHAPTER 678
(House Bill 661)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 (1) of
Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and
1954 Supplement), title "Pensions", sub-title "Membership", to
provide that officers and employees who are members of the Em-
ployees' Retirement System shall be eligible to receive Social Secu-
rity benefits.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 (1) of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement), title "Pensions", sub-title
"Membership", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
3 (1) Membership
Any person who shall become an employee as herein defined after
the date of establishment shall become a member of the retirement
system as a condition of employment, and shall not be entitled to
receive any pension or retirement allowance from any other pension
or retirement system supported wholly or in part by the State of
Maryland, anything to the contrary notwithstanding, except benefits
from Social Security.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT authorizing the Board of County Commissioners of Prince
George's County to issue general obligation bonds of the County
in a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION AND ONE HUNDRED
AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,150,000.00), Nine Hun-
dred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00) OF WHICH SHALL BE
USED for the purpose of making additions to the Court House of
