(24) Raw materials on hand and manufactured products in the
hands of the manufacturer in any city and/or county in which by
law, resolution or ordinance the same are or may be exempt from
county and/or city taxation; provided that nothing in this sub-section
shall exempt any such property from State taxation or from assess-
ment therefor. Such a tax exemption as is provided in this sub-
section shall be mandatory in Anne Arundel County, [Frederick
County and in the City of Frederick,] AND IN THE CITY OF
FREDERICK for county and municipal taxation, in the amount of
at least twenty-five per centum (25%) of the total assessed valua-
tion, and in the amount of forty per centum

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1955.

CHAPTER 659
(House Bill 447)

AN ACT to repeal Section 653 (i) of Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-
title "Oysters and Clams", and to enact a new Section 653 (i) in
lieu thereof, said new section to stand in the place and stead of
the section so repealed, re-enacting the provisions of this section
in order to include therein language inadvertently omitted when
it was amended by Chapter 459 of the Acts of 1949.

WHEREAS, Chapter 604 of the Acts of 1947 and Chapter 459 of the
Acts of 1949 amended Section 5 (i) of Article 72 of the Code (1947
Supplement), this section now being codified as Section 653 (i) of
the 1951 Code; and

WHEREAS, In the drafting of Chapter 459 of 1949, there was in-
advertently omitted therefrom language which had been added there-
to by Chapter 604 of 1947; and

WHEREAS, This omission from the Act of 1949 makes the language
of this section inaccurate in the 1951 Code and makes it desirable to
correct the inaccuracy, in order that the omission will not be per-
petuated in future editions of the Code; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 653 (i) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters
and Clams", be and it is hereby repealed; and that a new Section
653 (i) be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said new section
