whenever the same may be found in Worcester County, as if the said
property had remained in the said town.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the effectiveness of this
Act shall be subject to the requirement of Section 5 of Article HE of
the Constitution of Maryland that no such local law shall become ef-
fective in regard to a municipal corporation until and unless it shall
have been approved at a regular or special municipal election by a
majority of the voters of that municipal corporation voting on the
question.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 77
(House Bill 309)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Dorchester County to purchase a joint interest, in fee simple, of all
those lots or parcels of land known variously as "Community
Park", "Dodger Park" and "American Legion Park", lying within
the City of Cambridge from the Commissioners of Cambridge.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Dorchester County be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to purchase a joint interest,
in fee simple, of all those lots or parcels of land variously known as
"Community Park", "Dodger Park" and "American Legion Park",
more particularly described in a deed dated February 26, 1952 from
the Brooklyn National League Baseball Club, Inc., to the Dorchester
Post Home, Inc., and recorded among the Land Records of Dor-
chester County, said lot or parcels situate, lying and being within
the City of Cambridge, and to be purchased from the Commissioners
of Cambridge.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
