on a twelve-month basis. A principal of a school with twenty to
twenty-nine assistants may be employed on a twelve-month basis and
shall be paid $600 in excess of the schedule in this sub-section.

(e)  For the school year [1955-1956] 1957-1958 and thereafter, the
principal of a school, holding a regular principal's certificate, who
has completed at least one year of required work beyond the bache-
lor's degree, shall receive the following amounts in excess of the
schedule provided for teachers with degrees in Sub-section (b) for
schools with the following number of assistant teachers:

[One assistant............................................................    $ 400.00

Two to five assistants................................................        500.00

Six to nine assistants................................................        700.00

Ten to fourteen assistants........................................        900.00

Fifteen to nineteen assistants..................................     1,000.00

Twenty to twenty-nine assistants............................     1,100.00

Thirty or more assistants........................................     1,200.00]

One assistant ...........................................................    $ 400.00

Two to five assistants..............................................        600.00

Six to nine assistants...............................................        900.00

Ten to nineteen assistants......................................     1,200.00

Twenty to twenty-nine assistants..........................     1,500.00

Thirty to thirty-nine assistants..............................     2,500.00

Forty to forty-nine assistants................................     2,800.00

Fifty or more assistants..........................................     3,100.00

And provided further that for the purposes of this sub-section a
principal of a school with thirty or more assistants shall be employed
on a twelve-month basis. A principal of a school with twenty to
twenty-nine assistants may be employed on a twelve-month basis and
shall be paid $700 in excess of the schedule in this sub-section.

(f)  For the school year [1955-1956] 1957-58 [and thereafter,] the
salary of a teacher holding a regular second grade certificate shall be
[$1900] $2,300.00; and the salary of a teacher holding a regular
third grade certificate shall be [$1,700.] $2,100.00.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 153, Sub-sections
(d), (e), and (i) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1956 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 11.
County Superintendent of Schools", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

153. (d) Beginning with the school year [1955-1956] 1957-1958
and subject to the provisions of this section, every full-time super-
vising teacher or supervisor of pupil personnel I holding a regular
certificate shall receive a salary of not less than the amount specified
in the following limiting scale for the year of teaching and super-
vising service applicable to him or her. Such supervising teachers
or supervisors of pupil personnel I shall be employed on a twelve-
month basis.
