Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 167 (c) be and it is hereby added to Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub-
title "Referenda", to follow immediately after Section 167 (b)
thereof, and to read as follows:

167.

(c) The Secretary of State shall certify to the Board of Super-
visors of Elections of each county and of Baltimore City a list of the
proposed Constitutional amendments to be voted upon at any State-
wide election and a separate list, if any, of any other State-wide re-
ferenda to be submitted to the voters. Said amendments and said
referenda shall be listed in the following numerical order: (1) By
years of sessions of the General Assembly at which enacted, and (2)
For each such session, by chapter numbers of the Session Laws of
that session. Each Board, in the preparation of ballots and of ballot
labels, shall follow the order designated by the Secretary of State and
shall always place the proposed Constitutional amendments

OTHER STATE-WIDE REFERENDA, IF ANY, IN NUMERICAL
ORDER AS INDICATED. IF THERE ARE ANY LOCAL QUES-
TIONS OR REFERENDA THEY SHALL APPEAR AT THE TOP
OF THE BALLOTS AND BALLOT-LABELS AND SHALL BE
LISTED IN A SEQUENCE OF CAPITAL LETTERS OF THE
ALPHABET IN SUCH ORDER AS MAY BE DETERMINED BY
THE INDIVIDUAL BOARD. THE same order and procedure shall
also be observed in the preparation of any absentee ballots.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1958.

ing the election laws of the State to correct certain grammatical
