AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay Owen
Norfolk, clerk of the circuit court for Prince George's
county, for certain fees due him by the State.

pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the treasurer, upon the warrant of
the comptroller, be and he is hereby authorised and di-
rected, to pay to the order of Owen Norfolk, clerk of
the circuit court of Prince George's county, the sum of
eighty-seven dollars and fifty-nine cents, being the
amount of certain fees due him by the State, for the
years eighteen hundred and fifty-two and eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-three.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to provide for the levying an additional sum
for the support of primary schools in Queen Anne's
county.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS the sum now raised by taxation for primary
schools in Queen Anne's county, together with the
sum received from the school fund, is insufficient for
the employment of competent teachers; therefore,
|
|
|
Authority to
levy.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Queen
Anne's county, be and they are hereby authorised and
required to levy, as they levy other county charges, at
their next session, and annually thereafter, upon the
real and personal property in said county, such addi-
tional sum of money, (as will, together with the sum
now levied for such purpose, and with the sum received
from the school fund, give to each and every primary
school district, and the Centreville school district, the
nett and clear sum of three hundred dollars, in the
whole,) to be ascertained and prescribed by the commis-
sioners of the school fund for said county, for the sup-
port of primary schools; and the said additional sum
