AN ACT to provide for the compensation of Charles
F. Mayer and Jervis Spencer, for legal services ren-
dered to the State in the case of P. F. Thomas, vs.
James S. Owens, Treasurer.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Charles F. Mayer, and Jervis Spencer,
were employed by the Governor as counsel for the
State of Maryland, and performed services as such
counsel, in the trial of the case of P. F. Thomas, vs.
James S. Owens, Treasurer of the said State, both
in the circuit court for Anne Arundel county, and in
the court of appeals; and whereas, it is right and
proper that the said Mayer and Spencer, should be
compensated for the services thus rendered; There-
fore,

priated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland. That the sum of two hundred dollars be
and the same is hereby appropriated to be paid to each
of the said counsel for services rendered by them re-
spectively, in the trial of the case of P. F. Thomas, vs.
James S. Owens, Treasurer, in the circuit court of
Anne Arundel county, and the court of appeals, and
the Comptroller is hereby directed and empowered to
order his warrant on the Treasurer for said amount in
favor of each of said counsel to be paid to the said
Charles F. Mayer, and Jervis Spencer, respectively.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
