CHAPTER 167.

AN ACT relating to the Patapsco Bank of Maryland
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, at a general meeting of the stockholders of
the Patapsco Bank of Maryland, held at Ellicotts
Mills on, on the thirteenth day of June, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-three, it was unanimously resolved that
the president and directors of said bank, proceed as
expeditiously as practicable to wind up the concerns
of said bank; and whereas, the said president and
directors, did thenceforth discontinue the exercise of
all the valuable banking privileges conferred by the
charter of said bank, and did in less than three months
thereafter, wind up the concerns of said bank and
distribute amongst the stockholders the capital there-
of, paying to each the par value of his stock; and
whereas, the said banking privileges, charter, capital
and shares of stock of said bank have virtually ceased
to exist or be of value, and it is reasonable and just
that the burdens, taxes and impositions heretofore im-
posed, levied or collected on the said bank, its capital
or stockholders should no longer be continued;
Therefore;

Not to be tax-
ed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no such burdens, impositions, or taxes shall here-
after be laid or collected for any year subsequent to the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-four.

AN ACT to incorporate the Rosehill Company of Alle-
gany county.
|
|
|
Incorporated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John G. Lynn, George Lynn, Jo-
nathan M. Magruder, Frederick A. Schley, Anna B.
Tilghman, John A, Graham, Joseph H. Tucker and
James L. Graham, and all and every other person or
persons hereafter becoming members of the Rosehill
Company of Allegany county, in the manner herein-
