penses remaining due for eighteen hundred and fifty-
five, and three-fourths of what shall he estimated to be
required for eighteen hundred and fifty-six, and they
shall levy in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-seven,
for the balance of expenses due for eighteen hundred
and fifty-six, and the whole of what by estimate shall be
required for eighteen hundred and fifty-seven, and
thereafter they shall levy within the year for all the
expenses or disbursements, which by a careful estimate,
shall be required for that year.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Orphan House and Episcopal Free School of
All Saints' Church, in Fredericktown, passed at De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven,
chapter one hundred and forty-seven, authorising
them to take apprentices.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assembly,
that the destitute female orphan children who are
confided to the care and management of the ladies of
All Saints' church, in Fredericktown, associated by
the name of the Orphan House and Episcopal Free
School Society of All Saints' church, in Frederick-
town, for the benevolent purpose of rendering chari-
table aid as far as may be in their power, to destitute
female orphans, are liable to be withdrawn from the
protecting care of the said ladies, by the inconsiderate
interference and influence of friends and connections,
at such periods as may be prejudicial to the useful-
ness and happiness of the said children in after life ;
And whereas, it is manifest that those destitute or-
phan children who are, or may be placed tinder the
care and protection of the said ladies associated as
aforesaid, should remain under their care until such
time as they may be prepared to maintain themselves
by their own exertions, And whereas, it is manifest that
the moral influence and benevolent plans of the trus-
tees and Episcopal Free School Society of All Saints'
