CHAP. 110.
|
of the General Assembly of Maryland, to authorise
the Chancellor to confirm said sale, if the same shall
be for the benefit of the infants, parlies to the cause
aforesaid. Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That upon the petition of Isaac Ster-
ling, of Somerset county, to the Chancellor, to be filed
in the cause in the Court of Chancery of Maryland,
wherein Richard Odd and others are complaints, and
Elizabeth Ford and others are defendants, the Chan-
cellor shall determine whether or not the sale hereto-
fore made by William S. Waters, trustee, named in
the decree in said cause, to Isaac Sterling, of all the
land of which Charles Ford and Margaret Ford died,
seized, in Somerset county, was for the benefit and ad-
vantage of all the parties to the above cause; and if the
said Chancellor shall be satisfied that such sale is for
the advantage of the patties aforesaid, he shall confirm
such sale, and shall order a deed to be given by said
trustee to said Isaac Sterling, conveying to him, in fee,
all the rights of the parlies to said cause, of, in and to
said lands.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, Thai this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT entitled, an Act to elect a Treasurer of
Howard County by the People, and for the more
prompt and economical Collection of the State and
County Taxes in said County.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the legal voters of Howard county
shall, and they are hereby authorised and empowered,
at the next general election, to be held in said county,
for Delegates to the General Assembly, and every two
years thereafter, to elect, by ballot, a Treasurer for said
county, who shall act as clerk to the commissioners of
said county for two years succeeding his election, and
receive as compensation for his services as Treasurer
and Clerk, such sums as the commissioners of Howard
county, may deem reasonable and right, not exceeding
five hundred dollars per annum.
