287. An act for the benefit of the public schools of the city of
Baltimore.

288. An act to regulate the issuing of license to free negroes
and mulattoes, and to prevent their employment as clerks in Som-
erset, Worcester and Anne Arundel counties.

289. An act to authorise the county commissioners for Dorches-
ter county to adopt and use as evidence of the ownership of assess-
able properly in the said county, for the purpose of taxation, the for-
mer assessment list of 1851, now in the hands of the collectors.
290. An act to provide for the per diem allowance of the judges

of the Orphans' court of Anne Arundel county.

291. An act declaring it a misdemeanor to remove sand or gra-
vel from the shores of the Potomac river.

292. An act allowing to Nancy Coward, widow of William
Coward, a Lieutenant in the American Revolution, a pension, and
appropriating a sum of money for the payment thereof.

State.

303. An act to authorise William Ott of Frederick county, to
sell his negro man Resin Thomas, a slave for a term of years, be-
yond the limits of this State.

304. An act to incorporate the Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick
