CHAP. 194.

to the general meetings of the share-holders is hereby
repealed, and that the meetings of the share-holders may
he held at such time and places as may be designated by
the directors, instead of being now held on the first day
of May of each year, at the office of said company, in
Allegany county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves the right to change, alter or repeal this act at
pleasure.
|

In force.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, Thai this act shall com-
mence and he in force from and after the passage
thereof.

AN ACT to authorise the Commissioners of Balti-
more county to levy a sum of Money therein men-
tioned, to support the Public Schools of said county.
|
|
|
Authority to
levy.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, Thai the commissioners of Baltimore
county, are hereby authorised and directed to levy an
additional sum of four cents on the hundred dollars,
on the present assessable property of said county, to be
collected under the same laws and in the same manner
as other taxes are now, and shall hereafter be collected
in said county, to be set apart and applied to the use
of the public schools of said county, under the direc-
tion of the school commissioners thereof, and shall be
applied to no other use or purpose whatever.

When to take
effect.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, Thai the provisions of
this act shall be carried into effect by the commissioners
of Baltimore county, at the time of making the county
levy for eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

Act to be pub-
lished.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the du-
ly of the commissioners of Baltimore county, to have
this act published in two newspapers having the great-
est circulation in said county, and in hand bills set up
at the most public places in each election district in said
county, at least thirty days before the election herein-
after provided for.

held.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That an election shall
be held in Baltimore county, on the first Wednesday in
October, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, and every le-
gally qualified voter in said county, shall express on
