CHAPTER 185.

CHAP. 186.

AN ACT to alter and amend an Act entitled, an
Act to Incorporate the National Fire Insurance
Company of Baltimore, passed December Session,
eighteen hundred and forty-nine, chapter one hun-
dred and ninety-four.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the members of the board of di-
rectors of the National Fire Insurance Company, or a
majority of them, shall have full power to fill vacan-
cies that may occur in said board between any two
annual meetings, instead of being confined to their
annual meetings to fill said vacancies.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be law-
ful for said company to make insurances against fire
out of this State, instead of being confined within its
limits, as at present.

CHAPTER 186.

Lawful to
make insur-
ance out of
this State.

AN ACT to authorise the County Commissioners of
Frederick county, at their discretion, to levy a sum

of Money to erect a Bridge over Middle Creek,
in Frederick county.

17, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That from and after the passage

of this act, the county commissioners of Frederick
county, be, and they are hereby authorized, if, in their
discretion, the public interest and convenience require
it, to levy a sum of money, not exceeding one thou-
sand dollars, for the election of a bridge over Middle
creek, in Frederick county, on the road leading from
Beallsville to the old Hagerstown road, of such mate-
lerials and of such construction, as they, in their judg-
ment, may think best calculated to promote the public
interest.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said county
commissioners shall not levy the whole sum, in any
one year, but may levy a certain portion of said money,
not exceeding five hundred dollars, in one year, until
