LAWS OF MARYLAND.

1811.

shall and may be lawful for the said Elisha Furgusson,
at all times hereafter, to be called and known by, and
hold and use the name of Elisha Berry, and by that
name to sue and be sued in any court of law or
equity; and it shall and may be lawful for the issue of
the said Elisha Furgusson, born, or hereafter to be
born, to take upon themselves, and each of them the
sur-name of Berry, instead of the sur-name of Furgus-
son.

Lawful acts of
him and his is-
sue made valid.

AND BE IT ENACTED, That all securities,
promises, contracts, assurances, deeds and lawful
acts whatsoever heretofore made or done, or hereafter
to be made or done, by or to the said Elisha Furgus-
son, by the name of Elisha Berry, or heretofore made,
or hereafter to be made or done, by or to the issue of
said Elisha Furgusson, born, or hereafter to be born,
by the sur-name of Berry, shall be of the same force
and effect, and equally avail to ail intents and purpos-
es, as if the name of Elisha Berry had been the true
and proper name of the said Elisha Furgusson.

A Supplement to an act entitled, An act for
the relief of Lemuel Warfield, of the city of
Baltimore.

Benefits of the
insolvent laws
granted.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the
judges of Baltimore county court, or any one of them,
during the recess of said court, to extend to the said
Lemuel Warfield, without any previous notice of his
application therefor, all the benefits, advantages and
provisions of the act passed at November session
eighteen hundred and five, entitled, " An act for the
relief of sundry insolvent debtors, " and the several
supplements thereto.

WHEREAS, it hath been represented to this Gene-
