others, heirs and representatives of James Cain, late
of Harford county, deceased, that their father died,
leaving a considerable real estate, in which he had an
equitable right, only that since his death the said
estate has been conveyed to the petitioners and their
two sisters, who are since dead, leaving issue; and
praying that a law may pass extending the benefit of
the law directing descent in such cases, to them; and
the same being reasonable: — Therefore,

1811.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the
court of Harford county, upon proper application to
them made, to extend the benefit of the law directing
descents, passed in seventeen hundred and eighty-six,
and the several supplements thereto, to the heirs of
James Cain, late of Harford county, deceased, in as
full and ample a manner as if the said James Cain
had died seized of his real estate in fee, and that the
whole of the proceeding thereon, shall be in the same
manner as directed by said law, and the several sup-
plements thereto.

CHAPTER 108.

 

A supplementary act relating to insolvent debtors.

Passed Dec. 27,
1811.

WHEREAS, several special acts have passed this
General Assembly at its present session in favor of in-
solvent debtors, authorising the judges of the respec-
tive county courts to extend to the persons therein
named, the benefit of the insolvent laws passed at No-
vember session eighteen hundred and five, and the
supplements thereto; And whereas, doubts have arisen
as to the construction of the said special acts. — There-
fore,

Preamble.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That any one or more of the judges of the
respective county courts where the said petitioners
respectively reside, in court sitting, or any one judge
in the recess of the said court, be, and they are hereby
authorised and directed to extend to the said petition-
ers, the benefit of the said laws.
