and value the damages accordingly, taking into con-
sideration the advantages and disadvantages, if any;
and such inquisition and valuation shall be final and
conclusive between the parties respectively.

CHAPTER 39.

1811.

An act for the relief of Nathaniel Wallace, of
Allegany county.

Passed Dec. 27,
1811.

WHEREAS, it is represented, that Nathaniel Wal-
lace, of Allegany county, emigrated to the United
States of America in or about the year seventeen hun-
dred and seventy-nine, and that he has resided ever
since within the said United States, and upwards of
eleven years within the state of Maryland, in Allegany
county; that he was always impressed with an idea
that being within the said United States before the con-
clusion of the American war, that he was a citizen of
the United States, and that under that impression he
has acquired a legal title to property, which he now
finds to be insecure. Therefore,

Preamble.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the estate of the said Nathaniel Wal-
lace, fully and fairly acquired by purchase and con-
veyance, devise, or in the course of distribution, be,
and the same is hereby amply and fully vested In the
said Nathaniel Wallace and his heirs, to all intents
and purposes, in the same manner as it would have
been if the said Nathaniel Wallace had been legally
naturalized at the time of his acquiring the same or
any part thereof: Provided always, That nothing in
this act contained shall, in any wise, affect or defeat any
right, title or claim to said property, or any part thereof,
acquired by any person or persons, before the passage
of this act. And, Provided also, That unless the said
Nathaniel Wallace shall be, at the time of the passage
of this act, naturalized agreeable to law, or shall, on
or before the first day of May eighteen hundred and
twelve, according to law, become a citizen of the Unit-
ed States, this act shall have no effect to confirm his
title to his estate.

An act authorising Commissioners to open the old
road leading from Richard Owings' mill, in
Anne-Arundel county, to Elk-Ridge church, in
Queen Caroline parish.
