Provided, the sum so to be raised does not exceed the
sum of thirty thousand dollars; and to sell and dispose
of the tickets therein; Provided, the managers for the
time being, or a majority of them, shall, before the
sale of any ticket or tickets in said lottery, give bond
to the state of Maryland in the penalty of sixty thou-
sand dollars, conditioned that they will well and truly
apply the monies arising therefrom, within twelve
months after the drawing thereof, to the payment of
the prizes drawn by adventurers in the said lottery,
and the necessary expenses incurred in the manage-
ment thereof; and the residue, to the objects aforesaid;
which the said corporation, or their successors, are
hereby authorised to direct and superintend.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said bond
shall be lodged in the clerk's office of Charles county,
to be there recorded, and upon, such bond, or an office
copy thereof, suit or suits may be instituted against
the obligors therein or any of them, or their or any of
their legal representatives, for any breach or non-com-
pliance with the conditions of the same.

of Queen- Anne's county, to complete his col-
lection.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Philemon C. Blake be, and he is here-
by authorised and empowered to collect, until the first
day of January eighteen hundred and thirteen, all ba-
lances due him as Sheriff of Queen Anne's county in
the year eighteen hundred and eight, in the same man-
ner as he could or might have done within the time
limited by law, any law to the contrary notwithstand-
ing.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the
duty of the said Philemon C. Blake, before he pro-
ceeds to execute or distrain the property of any per-
son or persons for public dues in virtue of this act, to
deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the
same, at least thirty days previous to levying such ex-
ecution or distress, an account written in words at full
length, of the public dues demanded of him, her or
them, with an affidavit annexed, that he hath not re-
ceived any part thereof, nor any thing as security or
satisfaction for the same, more than credit given, to
the best of his knowledge.
