CHAPTER 548.

An act to provide for laying out and, opening a Road
from Forktown, in Somerset County, to Shad Point,
or some point adjacent thereto, on Wicomico River.
|

Commissioners
appointed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Jehu Parsons, Antony B. Bennett,
Isaac Anderson, William L, Parks, and John Laws;
be and are hereby appointed commissioners to lay out
and open a road from Forktown to Shad point, or some
point adjacent thereto, on Wicomico river, if in their
judgment the public interest and convenience demand
and absolutely require the same.

Expenses—
how paid.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the expense of lay-
ing out, opening and making said road, shall be paid
by Somerset county, and the commissioners of said
county are hereby authorised to levy on the assessable
property in said county, a sum sufficient to defray
such expense, to be collected as other county charges
are, and the said road when completed, shall be kept
in repair as other public roads in Somerset county
are.

Assessment of
damages.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, shall value and assess
the damages that may be sustained by any person or
persons through whose land the said road may pass,
taking into consideration the advantages, if any, aris-
ing to the owners of said lands, by reason of opening
and making said road.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

fees, by the General Assembly of Maryland, at the
session of seventeen hundred and seventy-nine, chap-
ter twenty-five, a table of fees was given, by which
