CHAP. 533.

Powers of pres-
ident and direc-
tors, &c.

be necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this
act.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the president and
directors of said company, shall be and they are hereby
authorised to run any of the locomotives or cars belong-
ing to said company, on any rail road connecting with
that of said company, or with the York and Maryland
line rail road, whenever, in their judgment, the inter-
ests of the Baltimore and Susquehanna rail road compa-
ny will be promoted by such arrangements.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That all acts of Assem-
bly inconsistent with the provisions of this act, in so far
as they are so inconsistent, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

When to go in
operation.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall be
of no force and effect, until a majority in value of the
stockholders of said company, including the State of
Maryland, whose assent is hereby given, in general
meeting assembled, shall have assented to the same, and
shall have deposited with the treasurer of Maryland the
written evidence of such assent.


CHAPTER 533.

Passed Mar. 9,
1850.

An act to allow Harriet Thomas, of Kent County,
Guardian of the children of John Thomas, late
of said County, to exchange a piece of land therein
mentioned.

Guardian to
exchange.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Harriet Thomas, of Kent
county, guardian of the minor children of John
Thomas, late of said county, deceased, be and she is
hereby authorised and empowered to exchange a
piece or parcel of land in said county, belonging to
said minor children, for another piece or parcel of
land near to other lands of the said minor children,
upon such terms and conditions as the said Harriet

Provisoes.

Thomas, guardian as aforesaid, shall deem best; pro-
vided, it does not exceed the quantity of fifteen acres;
and provided further, that any such exchange of
properly shall be returned and reported to the Or-
phans court of said county, by the said Harriet
Thomas, which said Orphans court is hereby re-
