CHAP. 369.

Proviso.

faction for the same, to the best of his knowledge
and belief; provided, that nothing in this act con-
tained shall be so construed as to effect the estate of
any deceased person, except to authorise the said
George W. Wilson to recover any chum or balance
due by a deceased person, in the same manner that
claims against deceased persons are now recovered by
law.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall be
in force from and after its passage, until the first day
of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one,
and no longer.

An act id make valid certain Devises and Bequests, in

the Last Will and Testament of Thomas Mains,
late of Washington County, deceased.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Thomas Mains, late of Washington coun-
ty, in this State, deceased, by his last will and testament,
in writing, dated the fifth day of August, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-five, and proven and admitted to record
in the said county, on the twentieth day of June, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-eight, did give and devise unto
the Right Reverend Bishop of Baltimore, for the use of
the Catholic church, certain lands and premises, in said
will described; and did also bequeath unto the Parish
Priest of his Parish, in said county, the legacy in said
will mentioned, as by the said will appears; and whereas,
the Most Reverend Samuel Eccleston, the Archbishop
of Baltimore, hath by his memorial to this General As-
sembly, asked the approbation and leave of the Legisla-
ture to the vesting of said devises and legacy; which
being reasonable — Therefore,

Right vested.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the leave and approbation of this General Assem-
bly, be and it is hereby given to the vesting and validity
of said devises and legacy, in conformity to the provi-
sions of the Declaration of Rights of this State; and the
said Samuel Eccleston is hereby authorised and empow-
ered, in his own name, to sue for and recover, and to
take and receive, and also to sell and dispose of the said
estate and property, for the uses so declared in the said
