company, or to or from any other place in Allegany
county, which the Baltimore and Ohio rail road pas-
ses, by virtue of the act by which said company has
been incorporated, and its several supplements, and
that all the powers therein given to said Baltimore and
Ohio Rail Road Company, are hereby given, granted,
and secured to the said president and directors of the
People's Mining Company, as fully and particularly as
if the same wore herein severally repeated; and that
for transporting passengers and recovering toll on said
rail road, the said company shall he, and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to charge the same
as the Mount Savage Coal and Iron Company, in Al-
legany county, named by an act passed in eighteen
hundred and thirty-seven, chapter fifty-seven.

CHAP. 317.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained, shall be so construed as to authorise said
company to issue any note, token, scrip, or other evi-
dence of debt, to be used as currency.

Banking forbid.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall enure
for seventy years from its passage, and the Legislature
hereby expressly reserves the right to alter or annul
this act of incorporation at pleasure.

CHAPTER 317.

In force.

An act to Incorporate the Sheffield Manufacturing
Company, of Washington County.

Passed Feb. 28,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the persons who shall as hereinaf-
ter mentioned, become subscribers to the capital stock
hereby created, and such other persons as shall hereafter
become stockholders in the said corporation, are hereby
created and declared to be a body politic and corporate,
by the name, style, and title of the Sheffield Manufac-
turing Company of Washington county, and by the
same name shall have succession, and shall be able to
sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in all courts
of law or in equity, in this State and elsewhere, and to
make and have a common seal, and the same to break,
alter, and renew at their pleasure, and generally to do
every act to promote the object and design of this incor-
poration.
