CHAP. 315.
In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, Thai the authority here-
by given, shall, continue until the first day of Decem-
ber, eighteen hundred and fifty-one.

An act to Incorporate the Baltimore German Building
Association, Number Three.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Charles Pracht, Gottlieb Singewald, Au-
gustus Ballarf, John Dressel, John Eckelman, Chris-
toph Haker, Henry Weighhart, Henry Neimueller, and
others, of the city of Baltimore, have formed themselves
into an association, under the name and style of the
Baltimore German Building Association, number three;
and whereas, the object of the said association is to en-
courage economy and frugality, whereby the members
thereof may, in an easy and secure manner, accumulate
a sum sufficient to build or purchase a domicil for their
families — Therefore,

Incorporated,
etc.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the aforesaid members of said
association, as well as those who, hereafter, according to
the constitution and bye-laws of said association, shall
become members thereof, be and they are hereby cre-

ated and made a body politic and corporate, by the name
and style mentioned in the preamble to this act, and by
that, name shall have succession for twenty years, and
shall be capable by law to hold and dispose of property,
to sue and be sued, to plead and be impleaded, answer
and defend, and be answered or defended, in all courts
of law and equity in this State, or elsewhere, to receive
and make all deeds, transfers, contracts, covenants, con-
veyances and grants whatsoever, to have, make and
use a common seal, and the same to break, alter and
renew at pleasure, and generally to do every other act
or thing necessary to carry into effect the provisions of
this act, and promote the object and design of the said
corporation.

Duty of secre-
tary.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the secretary of the said association, to keep a book,
containing a copy of this act, and of such constitution
and bye-laws, as may be established for the government
of said association, and that all persons, who may be
elected members thereof, shall upon signing their names
