SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves the right to alter, amend, or repeal this act of
corporation at pleasure.

A supplement to the several acts relating to the New
Castle and Frenchtown Rail Road.

Preamble.

WHEREAS for public convenience in the travel and
transportation upon the New Castle and Frenchtown
Rail Road, it is necessary, under the delays and
hazards of navigating the Elk river as far as French-
town, particularly in the winter, that the said road be
allowed to be extended to some termination below
Frenchtown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be lawful for the said New
Castle and Frenchtown Turnpike and Rail Road Com-
pany to change the western route of said rail road at
some place or point to be determined by the board of
directors, and thence to extend the same by locating
and constructing a rail way with one or more tracks
from such point or place to such other point or place
on the Elk river, between Frenchtown and Back
creek, as the board of directors may deem most eli-
gible.

Acts extended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the several acts of
incorporation heretofore passed, and now in force in
relation to the New Castle and Frenchtown Turnpike
and Rail Road Company, shall be and are hereby ex-
tended and applied to the locating, constructing, using,
repairing, and preserving from injury, the rail way
authorised by this act, and the directors of said com-
pany are hereby authorised and empowered, in rela-
tion thereto, to exercise all the powers granted in and
by the said several acts of incorporation.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That whenever it shall
be necessary for the said company to have, use, or
occupy any lands, materials, or other property, in or-
der to the construction or repairs of any of the road
authorised by this act, or the works or necessary
