An act to alter find change the name of Frances
Smith, of Baltimore City.

Name changed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of Frances Smith, of Baltimore city,

be and is hereby changed to that of Frances Gettier.

CHAPTER 36.

Passed Jan.
29, 1850.

An act to allow William Dellinger, former Collector
of State and County Taws, in Washington County,
further time to complete his collections.

Time allowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Dellinger, former collec-
tof of State taxes, for the year eighteen hundred and
forty-one, and State and county taxes for the year
eighteen hundred and forty-two, in Washington county,
be and he is hereby authorised to collect any and all
taxes or balances of taxes due to him and now remain-
ing unpaid, for the several years in which he was collec-
tor as aforesaid, in said county, in the same manner,
and with the same privileges and powers he could or

might have done within the time limited by law.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue and be in force until the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

Oath required.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if any person,
against whom there is a claim presented by the said
William Dellinger, shall make affidavit before any jus-
tice of the peace for said county, that he or she hath
paid the same, it shall forever bar such claim.

Duty prescri-
bed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said William
Dellinger shall have no power under this act, to enforce
the collection of any taxes against any real or personal
property which may have been conveyed or transferred
since said taxes shall have accrued and become due; and

Proviso.

provided further, that before the said William Dellin-
ger shall proceed to collect taxes under the powers given
to him in the first section of this act, he shall attach to
each account for such taxes, an affidavit that the amount
is due and unpaid, and that he has received no security
or other satisfaction for the same.
