when levied and collected, shall be paid over as other
county charges are.

CHAP. 53.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants of
said district shall be in all respects entitled to all the
rights, liberties and privileges, held or to be held and
enjoyed by the other election districts in said county.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act establishing a Li-
brary for the use of the Legislature, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and twenty six, chapter
fifty-three.

Jan. 28, 1849;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by Ike General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
some qualified person shall be appointed by the con-
current vote of the Senate and House of Delegates
of this State as Librarian, who previous to entering upon
the duties of his office, shall give bond to the State of
Maryland, in such sum and with such security as the
committees of the said Senate and House on the library
approve, with condition as prescribed in the third sec-
tion of the act to which this is a supplement.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in case of the
death, disqualification, resignation or removal from the
State of the librarian, during the recess of the General
Assembly, the Governor of the State shall fill such va-
cancy, and the person so appointed shall continue in
office until the next meeting of the General Assembly,
giving bond and security as aforesaid, to be approved of
by the Governor.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any librarian here-
after appointed, shall continue in office until a successor
shall be appointed as aforesaid.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That so much of the ori-
ginal act to which this is a supplement, as is inconsis-
tent with this act, shall be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the librarian shall
hereafter he charged with the general superintendence and

care of the public buildings and grounds within the
State House circle.
