CHAPTER 94.

An act to change the names of Henry January, and Ann
Maria his wife, and Almira, Marion, William, Henry
and Jerome, children of the said Henry and Ann
Maria January of Baltimore City, to thai of Henry
and Ann Maria, Almira, Marion, William, Henry and
Jerome Gaines.

CHAP. 95.

Passed Feb.
24, 1847.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the names of Henry January, and Ann Maria his
wile, and Almira, Marion, William, Henry and Jerome
children of the said Henry and Ann Maria January of
Baltimore city be, and the same are changed to that of
Henry, Ann Maria, Almira, Marion, William Henry and
Jerome Gaines, and it shall and may be lawful for the
said Henry, Ann Maria, Almira, Marion, William Henry
and Jerome January, at all times hereafter to be called
and known by Henry, Ann Maria, Almira, Marion Wil-
liam Henry and Qerome Gaines, and use the names of
Henry, Ann Maria, Marion, William, Henry and Jerome
Gaines, and by that name to sue and be sued in any court
of law or equity.

CHAPTER 95.

Names chang-
ed.

An act to repeal the fourth section of the act of December
session eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter one
hundred and twelve, and re-instating the allowance of
Sheriff of said County.

Passed Feb.
20, 1847.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the fourth section of the act of Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter
one hundred and twelve, be and the same is hereby
repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sheriff of Carroll
county, shall from and after the passage of this act, be enti-
tled to demand and receive twenty-five cents per day,
and no more, for the boarding of each and every prisoner
or person committed or confined in the jail of said county.

Receive 26 cts
per day for
