PUBLIC AUCTION— Every auctioneer who shall sell

any goods, &c., other than he is autho-

rised to sell by the terms of his license,

shall forfeit for every article so sold the

sum of $50, to be recovered by any

person suing for the same, before a

justice of the peace, or by indictment

in Baltimore city court,

given by the sixth section of the act of

1827, chapter 111, not to be construed

to authorise the sale of boots, shoes or

hats, by the package or case,

resume payment of the cutrcnt interest

on the, on the first day of January 1848,

and to make the necessary arrangements

to carry this act into effect,

Commissioner of loans directed,

whenever, after the first day of October

1847, he may be requested by holder or

coupons or certificates of interest due

and unpaid, &c., up to said first day of

October inclusive, and upon delivery of

said coupons, &c. to be cancelled, to issue

to holder the bond of the State for amount

of coupons, &c., bonds redeemable at

the pleasure of the State, and on their

face be entitled of the year in which

said coupons, &c., were due, to bear in-

terest of 6 per cent., from said first day

of October, payable at the loan office;

provided the interest payable on the

main public debt now existing, be first

fully paid up to the first day or October,

&c.; if after paying ordinary expenses
