ed to bind out the child or children therein named, to
some white person in the county, upon the conditions
provided for by the act to which this is a supplement.

CHAP. 356.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any constable or
justice of the peace, who shall fail to execute this law
upon information as hereinbefore provided, such con-
stable or justice so offending shall be liable to indict-
ment, and upon conviction, shall be removed from office,
and may be fined as for a misdemeanor.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, Thai the parent of any such
child or children shall have the privilege of selecting the
person to whom his or her child may be bound; provided,
the orphans court or justices of the peace before whom
such child shall be taken, shall approve of such selection,
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That any person to whom
any apprentice may be bound under the original act, or
this supplement, shall not permit such apprentice to re-
main in the employment or custody of any free negro or
mulatto, and any masters so offending, shall be liable to
indictment and punishment as for a misdemeanor.

Proviso.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent
with the provisions of this act be, and the same are
hereby repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall extend
to, and be in operation in Harford county only; provided
however, that nothing in this act shall be so construed so
as to repeal the sixth section of the act to which this is
a supplement, but the same shall be taken and considered
as a part of this act.

An act to incorporate the Mutual Protection Society of
Kent County.

James B. Ricaud, George B. Wescott, George Vickers,
Joseph T. Mitchell, Josiah Ringgold, Richard Smith,
A. W. Sparks, Charles B. Tilden, George D. S. Handy,
jr., George W. Spencer, Samuel Sappington, John E.
Cacy, Joseph Usilton, Thomas Lusby, James Mansfield,
John B. H. Anderson, Francis Cann, William B. Wilmer,
John M. Biddle, John Lusby, Josiah Lusby, Edward
