1846.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That, if at any time it
shall he deemed necessary to dissolve this society, a pro-
position to that effect shall be laid on the table in writing
at a stated meeting of the society, and may be discussed
at the next stated or special meeting, but shall not be
finally decided on until it has been two full months be-
fore the society, and shall not take effect unless three-
fourths of the members residing within the city and pre-
cincts of Baltimore are in favor thereof.

CHAP. 36.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said society
shall not be allowed to issue any note, check or certifi-
cate of any kind or character whatever, scrip or other
evidence of debt to be used as currency.

Issues forbid.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That this act of incorpo-
ration shall enure for thirty years from its passage, and
that the Legislature reserve to itself the right to alter or
annul this act of incorporation at pleasure.

CHAPTER 32.

Enure for 30
years.

An act to incorporate the German Union Beneficial Socie-

ty of the City of Baltimore.

WHEREAS, Frederick Hoffman, Peter Pfeil, Carl
Seitz, John Tzinsky, William Ficke, John Benson, John
Fried Drexter, John G. Schuerer, Bernhard Depape, Con-
rad Gengi, William Hennerneir, Peter Schmidt, and
others, have formed themselves into a society for the
laudable purpose of affording relief to each other and
their respective families in the event of sickness and
death, and have prayed an act of incorporation that they
may the better execute their intentions — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Frederick Hoffman, Peter Pfeil, Carl
Seitz, John Tzinsky, William Ficke, John Benson, John
Fried Drexter, John G. Schuerer, Bernhard Depape,
Conrad Gengi, William Hennernier, Peter Schmidt, and
others, that now are or may hereafter become members
of said corporation herein created, or may be admitted
in said corporation agreeably to the constitution, rules
and by-laws of the same, and their successors are here-
by declared to be one community, corporation and bod;
politic, by the name, style and title of the German Union
Beneficial Society of the city Baltimore; provided never
