the duty of the commissioners of Baltimore county,
within twenty days from and after the time of the death
or resignation of the said treasurer as aforesaid, to elect
some person to serve as treasurer for nnd during the
residue of the term for which the treasurer, so dying or
resigning, shall have been elected, which person, when
so elected, shall be required to qualify and give bond ac-
cording to the provisions of the second section of this
act.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the treasurer aforesaid, at the expiration oi his term
of service, to transfer and hand over to his successor in
office, all books, accounts and papers of every kind and
nature whatsoever, and in any way connected with the
administration of the said office.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all acts which are
repugnant to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this
act be, and the same are hereby repealed.

Number Thirteen, of the Sons of Temperance, Leiters-
burg, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Frederick Bell, James P. Mayhugh,
John Johnston, Thomas Atkinson, Jacob Wolfinger,
Jacob Kissell, George Kissinger, William T. Aniba,
David M. Detrich, and others, officers and members of
Mutual Relief Division, Number Thirteen, of the Sons
of Temperance, in Leitersburg, Washington county,
and their successors be, and they are hereby declared to
be a community, corporation and body politic, by the

name, style and title of Mutual Relief Division, Number
Thirteen, of the Sons of Temperance, and by that name,
they and their successors shall and may, at all times here-
after, be capable in law to have, hold, receive and re-

tain to them and their successors, properly, real or per-
sonal; also devises and bequests of any description of
property, from any person or persons capable in law of
making the same, and the same at their pleasure, to trans-
fer or dispose of in such manner as they may think pro-
per; provided always, that the said corporation or body
