CHAPTER 202.

An act to allow Charles G. Haslup, one of the late Col-
lectors of County and State Taxes in Howard District,
in Anne Arundel County, further time to complete his
collections.

CHAP. 203.

Passed March
6, 1847.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
that Charles G. Haslup, one of the late collectors of
county and States' taxes in Howard District, in Anne
Arundel county, for the years eighteen hundred and for-
ty-three and eighteen hundred and forty-four, by himself,
or any person or persons appointed for this purpose be,
and are hereby authorised and empowered to collect un-
til the last day of December, eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, all sums and balances due him as collector of
county and State taxes in Howard District, in Anne
Arundel county, in the same manner which he, the said
Charles G. Haslup, could or might have done within the
time limited by law, anything to the contrary notwith-

standing; provided, that befdre the aforesaid Charles G.
Haslup shall be entitled to any of the benefits of this act,
his sureties shall file their assent thereto, in writing, to
be recorded among the records of Howard District court.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
df the said Charles G. Haslup, before he proceeds to
execute the property of any person or persons for taxes,
in virtue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons
chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to le-
vying of such execution, a fair account in writing, of the tax-
es demanded of him, her or them, and an affidavit thereto
annexed, that he has not, directly or indiiectly, received
any part thereof, or any security therefor, or satisfaction
for the same, more than the ciedit or credits given, to
the best of his knowledge.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent
with this act be, and the same are hereby repealed.
