CHAP. 165.

Give ten days
notice.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before an election for
president and directors under the act to which this is a

supplement, shall take place, at least ten days notice
shall be given in some one of the papers published in
Harford or Cecil county.

CHAPTER 164.

Passed Feb.
17, 1847.

An act supplemental to an act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-three, chapter eighty-eight,
entitled, an act relating to the records of conveyances
in the several counties of this State.

Complete al-
phabetical in-
dex.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the clerk of Anne Arundel county court
be, and he is hereby directed to complete the general al-
phabetical index of land records in his office, from the year
eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, to the year eighteen
hundred and forty-five, and of the personal records from
the year eighteen hundred and thirty-one, to the year
eighteen hundred and forty-five, which were left incom-
pleted by his predecessor.

Commission-
ers to levy.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
Anne Arundel county, shall levy on the assessable pro-
perly of said county, for such sum of money, as in their
discretion, will be sufficient to compensate said clerk, for
the faithful performance of the. work herein directed to-
be done by him.

Duty of clerk.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That after the completion
of the work as aforesaid, it shall be the duty of the said
clerk to keep up and continue the record of indexes in
the manner and form as prescribed by the act to which
this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 165.

Passed Feb.
27, 1847.

An act to repeal the act passed at December Session,
eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter one hundred
and thirty-eight.

Repealed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act entitled, an act to regulate the height of
fences in Petersville, election district, of Frederick coun-
