ing, all loans, &c. of the State shall cease,

BALTIMORE CITY— The lien of mechanics for

work done, &c., on any buildings in, shall

only be preferred to any other, &c., subse-

quent to the commencement of the same,

&c., as provided for in 2nd section of

1838 ch. 205, provided that the contract

lor furnishing, &c., shall have been made

with any architect, &c., except the owner,

&c., of lot &c., the person so doing work,

&c., not entitled to lien, &c., unless with-

in sixty days after such work &c., he give

notice, &c.,

If owner &c., cannot, on account of ab-

sence, be furnished with notice, &c., in

that case claimant, &c., in presence of

competent witness, and within said sixty

clays to place notice upon door, &c., and

file claim, &c, in the office of clerk of

Baltimore County Court, &c.
