1845.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful for the Havre-de-grace bank to discount any bill
of exchange or promissory note which shall be offered
for discount in said bank by any person of persons; al-
though the same shall not on the face thereof be made
negotiable at the Havre-de-grace bank, nor be made pay-
able at the house of any person in the town of Havre-de-
grace, and the same shall be recoverable by said bank
in any court of law or equity, and be good and valid to
all intents and purposes; and at any time when a gene-
ral meeting of the stockholders shall be called, the notice
for such meeting shall be published in the newspapers in
Harford and Cecil counties and in someone of the pub-
lic prints in the city of Baltimore, not less than two
months prior to the day of such meeting.

CHAP. 374.

May discount
bills, &c.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That every thing in the
act to which this is a supplement, inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 374.

Repealed.

A supplement to an act, entitled an act to impose a tax
upon and to license Theatrical and other public exhibi-
tions, and for other purposes, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-one, chapter One hundred
and ninety-four.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and alter the passage of this act,
any person or company of stage players, ventriloquists,
sleight of hand performers, rope dancers, tumblers and
wire dancers, and all others named or intended by the
original act to which this is a supplement, exhibiting for
a reward, shall previously to exhibiting or performing in
any county in this State, Baltimore City excepted, and
which is provided for, in the second section of the said
original act, pay to the clerk of the county thereof thirty
dollars for a license for one year or one dollar for a li-
cense for each and every such exhibition or performance,

License, &c.

at his or their option; provided, and it is hereby so in-
tended, that all circus riders or companies of equestrian
performers or exhibitor of menagaries, shall pay respec-
tively the licenses now provided by said original act.
