CHAP. 365

Proviso.

their hands, said notice inviting the creditors of said in-
solvent to show cause if any they have, why such an ac-
count should not be ratified; and it is further provided,
that said notice shall give at least four months time from
its date to the creditors of said insolvent, to exhibit, their
objections to the ratification of such final account or ac-
counts.

Court to be
satisfied.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before any such final
account as that mentioned in the first section of this act
shall be ratified, the court shall be satisfied that the no-
tice required by the first section of this act has been
given.

CHAPTER 364.

10, 1846.

An act for the benefit of John Henry Hoppe, late Sheriff
of Carroll County.

Time allowed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John Henry Hoppe, late sheriff of Carroll county,
be and he is hereby authorised, to collect all fees and ba-
lances due him, or which may be in his hands for collec-
tion, at any time before the first day of May, eighteen
hundred and forty-seven, and that for said purposes he
shall be entitled to exercise all the powers now vested in
sheriffs by law.

CHAPTER 365.

An act authorising conveyances of land by Collectors of
County and State taxes in certain cases.

Collector may
convey, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in case any purchaser of lands sold for
State or county taxes, or that may hereafter be sold for any
State or county taxes in this State, and which shall not
be redeemed according to law, shall have died or may
hereafter die, without having produced a deed from the
collector for the same, it shall and may be lawful for the
said collector to convey the said land to the devisees or
heirs at law of the said purchaser, or according to the
last will and testament of the said purchaser, and which
conveyance shall have the same effect as if made to the
original purchaser.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take ef-
fect from the passage thereof.
