CHAP. 296.

CHAPTER 294.

Passed Mar.
9, 1846.

An act to confer on the Collectors of County Taxes in
Prince George's County, certain powers herein men-
tioned.

Act extended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That so much of the act of eighteen hundred
and forty-four, chapter two hundred and thirty-six, as
relates to the selling of real estate by State collectors, be
and the same is hereby extended to, and conferred upon
the collectors of county taxes in Prince George's coun-

ty.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts, inconsistent with this act, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 295.

Passed Mar.
9, 1846.

An act for the repair of the Jail in Chestertown, Kent
County, and improvement of the Yard attached thereto.

Authorised to
repair jail, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Kent county be,
and they are hereby authorised to cause such repairs to
be made upon the jail in Chestertown, and to have such
change made in and improvement upon the yard attach-
ed to said jail as they may think necessary.

Authorised to
levy.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commission-
ers are hereby authorised to levy upon the taxable pro-
perty of said county such sum as may be required to pay
for such repairs and improvements when made.

Employ com-
petent person.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners be, and they are hereby empowered to employ
any person or parsons they may deem competent to make
such repairs and improvements.

CHAPTER 296.

8, 1846.

An act to enforce, the collection of Taxes levied for the
use of Somerset County.

or execution.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
