of December, being the twenty-ninth day of said month,
in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and
forty-five, and ended the tenth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and forty-six.

THE FOLLOWING LAWS WERE ENACTED, TO WIT:

CHAPTER 1.
An ad to change the name of Virginia Swope, of Wash-
ington County, to that of Josephine Agnes Swope.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the name of Virginia Swope, daughter
of Jacob and Eliza Swope, of Washington county, be
and the same is hereby changed and altered to that of
Josephine Agnes Swope; and it shall and may be law-
ful for the said Virginia Swope, at all times hereafter, to
be called and known by, and hold and use the name of
Josephine Agnes Swope, and by that name to sue and be
sued in any court of law or equity.
