the said name to sell, purchase, convey and devise, and
by the name of Laura Ogle to sue or be sued in any court
of law or equity.

CHAP. 47.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises,
contracts, assurances, deeds, devises, grants, demises, be-
quests and all other lawful acts whatever, to be made or
done either to or by the said Laura Ogle Oldham, by the
name of Laura Ogle, shall be of the same force and effect
and equally valid to all intents and purposes as if the
name of Laura Ogle had been her first and original name.

CHAPTER 46.

 

An act to make valid the proceedings of Edward M. Wise,
Esquire, a Justice of the Peace of Somerset County.

6, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all the acts and proceedings of Edward M. Wise,
Esquire, a Justice of the Peace in and for Somerset
County, in his official capacity, since the first day of Au-
gust last, be and the same are hereby ratified and con-
firmed.

Confirmed.

CHAPTER 47.

 

An act to allow Jacob Clemmer, further time to complete
his collections.

Passed Feb.
6, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Jacob Clemmer, collector of taxes in Allegany coun-
ty, for the years eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and
eighteen hundred and forty, be and he is hereby authoris-
ed and empowered to collect whatever taxes may be due
him for the above named years, until the first day of Fe-
bruary, one thousand eight hundred and forty-six, in the
same manner which he could have done within the time
limited by law.
