said academy, as they may deem expedient; provided,
the same be not inconsistent with the laws of this State
or the United States.

CHAP. 42.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act of incorpora-
tion shall endure for thirty years, from its passage, and
that the Legislature reserves the right to alter, or annul
this act of incorporation at pleasure.

Enure for 30
years.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
shall be construed so as to authorise the said corporation
to issue, any note, scrip, or other evidence or debt, to be
used as currency.

CHAPTER 11.

 

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the United Hebrew Benevolent Society of Baltimore,
passed at December session eighteen hundred and thirty-
three.

Passed Feb.
3, 1845.

WHEREAS, the fourth section of an act entitled, an act
to incorporate the United Hebrew Benevolent Society of
Baltimore, passed December session eighteen hundred
and thirty-three, provides as follows:

Preamble.

And be it enacted, That this act shall continue and be
in force until the year eighteen hundred and forty-five,
and until the end of the next session of the General As-
sembly thereafter, and as the aforesaid act will expire at
the end of the present session of the Legislature, and the
members of said society are still desirous of its continu-
ance—Therefore,

Former act.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That an act entitled, an act to incorporate the United
Hebrew Benevolent Society of Baltimore, passed at De-
cember session eighteen hundred and thirty-three, shall
be and remain in force until the first day of January eigh-
teen hundred and sixty, and until the end of the next
session of the General Assembly of Maryland, which shall
happen thereafter.

To continue
in force until
the year 1860.
